The Boston Paper Collective seeks to bring together a community of artists, hobbyists, writers, and others interested in the craft, history, and science of book arts. We provide the equipment and space necessary to create high-quality book work of all kinds, as well as exposure through classes, demonstrations, and exhibitions.

Our studio space is located in the Stove Factory building at 523 Medford Street in Charlestown, MA. We have a fully-equipped paper-making studio, with a Lee S. McDonald beater, whiz-mixer, 20-ton press, 2.5′ x 3′ drying system, and vats & moulds in many sizes. We also also have a print shop, currently equipped with a Vandercook SP-20 proof press and fonts including Univers and Bodoni Ultra.

We offer workshops, custom classes, pulp beating, individual instruction, and equipment rental. Email bostonpapercollective@gmail.com or call 617-863-0886 for more information or personalized quotes.

We accept donations through Fractured Atlas to cover our administrative costs, fund Open Vat papermaking nights, offer fellowships to artists, and provide scholarships to those in need.
